Disclaimer

I take absolutely no credit for the trail, its up-keep, it's patches, or anything else.  I'm just a local scoutmaster who didn't want to see a piece of our local history fade away.  Everyone in our local district thought no one had touched this trail in decades.

I wrote my Woodbadge ticket to "Bring awareness to the Laughery Creek Trail".  That's exactly what this website is for.  Nothing more, nothing less.  I'm not a pirate, but maybe I am a catalyst.

Troop 288 says they are planning to re-blaze the trail and hopefully re-establish an over-night campsite.  I'm looking forward to that.  Our countryside is very beautiful and it will be great for more people to come and enjoy it.

PLEASE be careful when hiking down the hill towards the town of Friendship.  That road is sometimes highly traveled and there is really no place to walk off the road.  Right now this dangerous part of the road is closed due to slipping, but I do believe the state will be re-opening it later this year.  I'd also suggest to not hike the trail during the two times of the year that they hold the muzzleloader shoots in Friendship.

If you want to know anything more about this trail or to order patches, please contact the scoutmaster of Troop 288 at wcduncan@live.com.
